A message from our CEO

Here at Empowering Minds Academy Trust, we believe in the empowerment of all in our family of schools and beyond. We do this through meaningful collaboration and achieving the best in every way, every day, for every child and their family and the community where they live. In our schools, all children are taught by well-trained,and excellently supported teachers using a knowledge rich curriculum. Our curriculums encompass the arts, languages, music and the humanities as well as science and maths, and are put together using evidence and research based guidance. We develop character and resilience through our day to day practice, building emotional strength, mental health and supporting individuals through our approaches. Our schools will give every child the knowledge they deserve, are entitled to and need in order to become successful in their futures, no matter their background. Come and talk to us to find out more.

As a trust, we are committed to using evidence-based practice to drive improvement, and we recognise that classroom practitioners play a crucial role in this development. We are excited to share the findings from a research project led by EYFS leaders at Tranmoor Primary and Southfield Primary. These colleagues have been actively involved in an Innovation Research Group, led by Mary Prest, which has been exploring the role of schematic play in supporting number acquisition in the early years.
The outcomes of this project are now being developed into a practical toolkit with the aim of national rollout—bringing evidence-informed strategies directly into early years settings across the country. Please click on the links below to view our findings:
